Danny started to take dance lessons and to compete at the tender age of 8! At the age of 18, he was already a successful and accomplished young dancer as he started to polish his dancing in England. His passion has always been Ballroom dancing. Danny had a vision and a dream, and he never stopped dancing. At 27 years old he became North American Amateur Ballroom Champion and at 28 years old, in 1995, he won with his partner, Manon Grenier, the coveted title of Canadian Amateur Ballroom Champion. He moved into the Professional ranks that same year. In 2000, his beloved dance partner stopped dancing due to health issues. He went on to dance with Lynn Jolicoeur, with whom, at the age of 35, he won the North American Professional Ballroom Championship in 2000 and the Professional Canadian Ballroom Championship in 2005. He then danced for two years with a lovely young German dance partner named Christine Kunz with whom he made the prestigious World Professional Showdance Final! They ranked 4th in the World in 2002. Danny retired from Competitive Ballroom Dancing in 2005, at the age of 38, after a long and successful career of 30 years on the dance floor!
Danny then started to dedicate his time to teaching, coaching, lecturing, demonstrating, and adjudicating. His passion now is teaching. During his amateur career he worked as a kindergarten teacher in a day care. He always loved children. He is now a father of 3 beautiful girls who are his pride and joy. Danny has coached and taught many dancers across the USA and Canada. Under his tutelage, many have become Amateur & Professional National and International Champions.
In 2008, he started to perform demonstrations and shows with the highly successful and famous dancer, Ieva Pauksena, who became his wife and the mother of their lovely daughter. Together they now continue to inspire and teach dancers across North America. Together they created the dance company, “New York Dance Force,” a group of talented young dancers from New York who were delivering the most artistic and flamboyant choreography as a team. They performed on many stages across Canada and the USA. Danny and Ieva were invited to dance on the “Legend of Dance Show” in Niagara Falls,
Canada, where they retired from performing. This was their last appearance on the dance floor.
Danny was also a choreographer on the popular TV program, “So You Think You Can Dance Canada.” Assisted by his talented and lovely wife, they created beautiful masterpieces for young dancers of different dance backgrounds. Danny is a fully certified Ballroom Dance judge and a Canadian National and World Championships adjudicator. He has been invited to judge The World Professional Showdance Championship in Russia and The National Amateur & Professional Canadian Championships in Gatineau QC. He and his wife Ieva are always in demand for judging the many dance competitions on the calendar across North America.

He has competed as an Amateur International Latin and Standard competitor since that time, and most recently has devoted himself to the Standard style specifically.
