If you’re a fitness instructor looking for a professional space to run group classes in Ottawa, DQ Ballroom & Fitness offers a combination that’s hard to find elsewhere: a fully equipped gym alongside a dedicated open studio — all under one roof, available by the hour.

We already host regular stretching and group fitness classes at our facility. It’s an active facility that your participants will feel comfortable walking into.

The Small Studio

Our 650 sq ft mirrored studio is the primary space for group fitness classes at DQ. It’s the right size for focused, energetic classes where your participants get real attention — not lost in a crowd.

The Gym

For instructors who incorporate equipment-based training into their group sessions, our fully equipped gym is available alongside the studio. Run a conditioning circuit, set up equipment stations, or structure a class that combines floor work with machine and free weight training.

Two ways to book

  • Floor fee — $25/hr + HST: Shared access to the full gym and all equipment. Practical and cost-effective for smaller group sessions.
  • Private rental — $50/hr + HST: Exclusive use of the entire gym space for your class. Full control of the environment and equipment layout for the duration of your session.

How many people can I have in a group fitness class?

The small studio comfortably fits 6 to 15 participants for group fitness. For equipment-based gym sessions, smaller groups of 4 to 8 work best depending on the format and stations you’re running.

Can I combine the studio and the gym in one session?

Do you already have group fitness classes running?

Can I run a recurring weekly class?

Absolutely. We work with a number of instructors on a weekly schedule. Contact us to check availability for your preferred day and time.

What’s the difference between the floor fee and private gym rental?

The floor fee gives shared access to the gym — this means there might be another trainer with their student at the same time. This works fine for smaller groups or when equipment use is limited. The private rental gives you exclusive use of the entire gym space and all its equipment, which is better for larger groups or when you need full control of the layout and equipment.
