Open dancing across every style, with a short lesson at the start of the night.
Short lesson at the top
We open with a 15 to 30 minute lesson on a single dance, usually one our regulars have been requesting that month. Open to everyone, beginners welcome.
Open social dance for the rest of the night
A DJ rotates through ballroom, Latin, and salsa for the rest of the night. Mixed-partner floor by default, most regulars dance with whoever wants to dance the next song.
No commitment required
Drop-in pricing welcome. Use a Social Party Pack credit if you have one, or pay at the door. Bring friends. Stay as long as you like.

About Social Parties
Do I need to be a current student to attend a social party?expand_more
No. Social parties are open to everyone. Many regulars are DQ students, but we welcome dancers from other studios and visitors to Ottawa as well.
Do I need a partner?expand_more
No. Social parties are mixed-partner by nature. Most regulars rotate around the floor with whoever wants to dance the next song. Coming with a partner is also welcome.
What music is played?expand_more
A mix of ballroom, Latin, and salsa. The DJ rotates so every dance gets played across the night, with the heavier mix biased toward the styles our regulars are dancing that season.
Is there a dress code?expand_more
No formal dress code. Most regulars wear something they can dance in (think nice casual, dance shoes preferred). Themed nights have looser dress code suggestions which we announce in advance.
