Tony Cooperman, Ballroom Instructor

Growing up in Toronto, Tony came to movement as a soccer goalkeeper and martial artist. However, it wasn't until he joined a local dance studio at age seven that he found the combination of music and partner movement compelling.

He embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, and upon entering the competitive ranks, he decided to fully dedicate himself to dance.

As a World 10 Dance Finalist, a Blackpool U21 Latin Finalist, a USA Adult 10 Dance Champion, and a multiple-time Canadian Champion in the Youth and Junior categories, Tony brings deep expertise to our studio.

Tony's style is rooted in musicality, coordination, and strong partnering. He emphasizes the fundamentals of each dance, aiming to help students experience total flow and transformational bliss through movement and music. Passionate about all 10 dances, he appreciates their unique emotions and moods. Tony embraces the old-school approach to versatility, balancing the discipline of an athlete with the expression of an artist: "Train like an athlete, perform like an artist."

Tony continuously learns and draws inspiration from all aspects of life. For him, dance connects to everything else he does. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he shares, "This form of visual art is something we will never master, and because of this, I love it even more." His teaching focuses on giving each student the guidance they need to reach their own dance goals.
